About Taradale High School
Napier is a city located in the Northeast of North Island of New Zealand with a population of approximately 60 thousand inhabitants. The city has been reconstructed after the 1931 earthquake in the architectonic style of the time, the Art Deco.
The city is situated by the sea, in a winery region, with grapes plantations and centers for wine tasting and gastronomy. The school is situated in a neighborhood circa 15 minutes from the city centre, with easy access to the host families.
The school is well equipped with modern centres of leaning support, a gymnasium, drama and music studies, four computer suites, and a large technological centre. A great outdoor field surround the school for sports practices. The school is also equipped with a modern hospitality facility and more recently a dance studio and a modern centre for sciences and biology research.
In spite of these facilities, the specialty of Taradale High School is really sport. There are may sports and the school promotes it and engages the students to participate in excursions organized by the school and campings.
Disciplines: As examples of the diversity of disciplines offered, they are: Arts, Graphic Design, Photography, Biology, Calculus, Chemistry, Visual Design and Communication, Drama, Economy, Geography, History, Hospitality, Information Technology, Maori Culture, Physical Education, Physics, Social Studies, Statistics and Technology. Students can choose five of these disciplines.
