PAKURANGA COLLEGE
About Pakuranga College
Pakuranga College is a top co-educational high school with over 2000 students. We have a long tradition of commitment to excellence and nurturing students who are well-prepared for university study.
International students at Pakuranga College are integrated into regular classes with local students and can choose from over 40 subject options in Year 12 and 13, including our ever-popular Outdoor Education course. Our large eight-hectare campus offers amazing facilities that support student learning and co-curricular participation. Some facilities of note are our technology building equipped with 3D printers, laser cutters, industrial standard kitchens, robotics labs, and engineering workshops. We also have extensive sports facilities including a heated swimming pool, football fields, 3 indoor gyms, weights room and flood-lit tennis courts.
In addition to superb teaching and excellent pastoral care, we pride ourselves on the wide range of co-curricular opportunities available to students. We have 100+ co-curricular groups and activities that students can take part in. Students might like to dive into one of our 20+ sports codes including basketball, badminton, football, rugby, hockey and swimming. For students interested in the Arts,
we have Dance, Drama and Music experiences available, plus interest-based Visual Arts groups. Our hip hop dance group is always extremely popular with both beginner and experienced dancers. Students can also join one of our many cultural groups, including Māori and Pasifika. Te Tai O Pakuranga, the school Kapa Haka group, immerses members in Māori culture and many of our international students enjoy this taste of New Zealand.
Coming to study in New Zealand is about more than just your time at school. It’s about experiencing our local attractions and there are plenty in East Auckland to keep you entertained, from mountain biking in our parks to swimming at our beautiful beaches. The city center, with its excellent dining, shopping and entertainment options is just a short ferry ride away.
Our New Zealand homestay families are waiting to welcome you to Auckland. We carefully match international students with homestay accommodation and families to ensure a good fit that will make your time in New Zealand even more enjoyable. All our homestays live in the local area, making the journey to school quick and convenient.
We look forward to welcoming you to the Pakuranga College family and to Auckland.
